Happy Holidays

Dear Staff

It always seems that our vacations come at just the right times. As we continue to work through these times of uncertainty and change, I want to say that I sure appreciate all the work that you do in support of our students, parents, and cherished communities. Although some days are more difficult than others, I always go home feeling appreciative of the people I work with and honored to be a part of the Siskiyou Union High School District. I consider myself and my family to be very blessed with the opportunity to live and work where we do.

We must remember that we are not alone in the financial and potential change struggles. Many of our families, businesses, and government agencies are also dealing with uncertain futures. As educators, I strongly believe that we collectively have the potential to provide our students and communities with the hope and leadership necessary to not only prevail but become stronger and better at what we do. Let’s take advantage of these uncertain times and build a stronger, more sustainable future.

We are already making progress.

· Less students are leaving our schools for other options.

· Electricity and supply cost are down from prior years.

· Staff members are working to learn new strategies, develop new skills, and implement new curriculum with their students (learning and taking risks).

I am thankful and proud of your work and I hope you get some much deserved rest and time with family and friends.

Happy Holidays

Sincerely,

Mike
